Verbascum ‘Dark Eyes’ is a compact, eye-catching perennial that brings vibrant colour to the front of borders. Its short, tidy spires carry clusters of soft custard-yellow blooms, each marked with a rich maroon eye for striking contrast. Reaching just 30cm tall, it adds delicate vertical structure without overwhelming neighbouring plants.
Highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, this charming mullein is also excellent for cutting. Hardy, easy to grow, and perfectly suited to cottage-garden schemes, it provides reliable summer interest with minimal maintenance.
June-August flowering. Thrives in full in moist, well-drained soil. Height & spread: 30cm x 30cm (12" x 12").

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
