One of the most reliable and hard-working perennials available, this classic variety delivers months of vibrant colour when many other plants are beginning to fade.
Celebrated for its outstanding performance, it forms a sturdy, upright clump of branching stems topped with large, deep yellow daisies, each anchored by a bold black central cone. It blooms profusely from late summer right through to the first frosts, providing a vital late-season nectar source for insects. The foliage remains neat and disease-resistant, making it a low-maintenance backbone for any herbaceous border or prairie-style planting scheme.
It pairs effortlessly with ornamental grasses and other late-flowering perennials, offering structure and cheer as the days grow shorter. This is a plant that asks for very little yet gives a generous display year after year.
Barnsdale Tip: Divide congested clumps every three to four years in spring to maintain vigour and ensure you always have plenty of new plants to fill gaps in your borders.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
