Rhus typhina (Stag’s Horn Sumach) is a striking deciduous shrub or small tree, renowned for its fiery autumn display. From late summer, female plants bear dense upright cones of crimson fruit, perfectly complementing finely divided foliage that blazes orange, red and gold before falling.

Hardy and low-maintenance, it makes a superb focal point in mixed borders or shrubberies. It may produce suckers, which can be easily managed or used for propagation. A bold choice for dramatic seasonal colour in the garden.

June-August flowering. Best in full sun in moist, well–drained soil. Height & spread: 4m x 3m (13' x 10").
