A sophisticated and intense variety, Penstemon 'Bodnant' is a highly sought-after border perennial named after the famous Welsh garden.
It bears elegant, slender spikes of tubular flowers in a rich, deep violet-purple. Each bloom reveals a distinctive white throat heavily streaked with dark purple markings, creating a beautiful two-tone effect.
These striking flowers are produced in abundance from summer right through to the autumn frosts, rising above a semi-evergreen clump of narrow, healthy green foliage. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, 'Bodnant' is a reliable and hardy choice for adding depth and drama to sunny borders or cottage schemes. It is a magnet for bees.

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
