Airy sprays of rich rosy-pink flowers dance above slender stems for months on end, bringing movement and a light, natural character to borders from early summer until the first frosts.
Oenothera lindheimeri ‘Gaudi Rose’ forms a compact, bushy clump that blends effortlessly with ornamental grasses and other late-flowering perennials, while its nectar-rich blooms attract bees and butterflies throughout the season. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil but will tolerate semi-shade and dry spells once established. Avoid overly rich or heavy soils, as these can encourage soft growth at the expense of flowers and reduce its naturally graceful habit.
Barnsdale tip: Cut the flowering stems back by about half in midsummer if the plant becomes a little loose, encouraging a tidier shape and a fresh flush of blooms.
June-October flowering. Best in a sunny and moist, well-drained position, but will take semi-shade. Height & spread: 40cm x 40cm (16" x 16").
