Rising into a soaring, towering screen of broad, fresh green foliage with prominent white midribs, Miscanthus sacchariflorus creates an impressive bamboo-like presence without the invasive root issues.
In late summer, the tall stems are crowned with large, silky, silver-white flower plumes that catch the wind beautifully and shimmer in the autumn sun. As winter approaches, the entire plant cures into a warm, coppery-orange and straw-brown hue, providing essential structure, movement, and a rustling sound to the winter landscape. It is fully hardy and thrives in full sun and moist, well-drained soil, making it a spectacular choice for a dramatic focal point or a fast-growing seasonal hedge.

If you haven’t received your order within 3 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at info@barnsdalegardens.co.uk with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
