Luzula sylvatica 'Marginata' is a hardy, evergreen, perennial grass, prized for its glossy green leaves edged with cream margins. Forming attractive, low-growing clumps, it provides year-round groundcover and thrives in a wide range of soils, including those in shade or damp conditions. In late spring to early summer, airy clusters of brown flowers rise above the foliage, adding subtle texture to the display.
Reliable and easy to grow, this versatile woodrush is ideal for underplanting shrubs and trees, filling shady borders, or naturalising in woodland gardens. Low-maintenance, it offers enduring structure and interest.
Spring flowering. Grows best in shade and semi-shade, in moist, well-drained soil. Height & spread: 30–60cm x 30–60cm (1'-2' x 1'-2').
