A more graceful alternative to the familiar purple coneflowers, this species carries elegant, narrow-petalled blooms in soft pink that arch gently downwards around a prominent copper-orange cone, bringing movement and a naturalistic feel to summer planting.
Flowering from midsummer into early autumn, Echinacea pallida thrives in full sun and light, well‑drained soil, coping well with summer heat once established. Avoid heavy, waterlogged ground, as this can shorten its lifespan and resist the temptation to overwater young plants.
Its flowers are rich in nectar, drawing bees and butterflies through midsummer, and the seedheads provide late interest as well as food for finches. A simple tip is to leave the faded stems standing into autumn, as they add structure and support wildlife.
June-August flowering. Drought tolerant. Best in a sunny and well-drained position. Height & spread: 75cm x 30cm (30" x 12").

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
