A sterile hybrid that solves the traditional foxglove problem of brief flowering, this compact variety blooms tirelessly for months by putting all its energy into new buds rather than seed production.
Rising from a neat rosette of dark, semi-evergreen leaves, the sturdy spikes carry tubular flowers in a warm, sophisticated blend of apricot and soft yellow, heavily speckled with reddish-brown markings in the throat. It is perfectly scaled for the front of a border or a large patio pot, bringing vertical interest without blocking the view of plants behind.
It bridges the gap between high summer and autumn beautifully, thriving in the dappled shade of deciduous trees where its glowing colour can really shine. Because it sets no seed, it won't become a nuisance by popping up in unexpected places, staying exactly where you planted it.
Barnsdale tip: To get the absolute maximum value from this plant, cut the main central flower spike down to the base as soon as it finishes fading. This encourages the plant to send up multiple side shoots, effectively giving you a second, slightly shorter display later in the season.
June-September flowering. Semi-evergreen. Will grow in sun or semi-shade in most garden soils. Height & spread: 50cm x 40cm (10" x 16").

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
