Rich scarlet-red flowers set against deep bronze-purple foliage give this classic dahlia a distinctive presence from midsummer until the first frosts, bringing bold contrast and lasting colour to borders and containers alike.
Dahlia ‘Bishop of Llandaff’ forms a compact, bushy plant with finely divided dark leaves that provide interest long before the first blooms appear. The open-centred flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, making it as valuable for wildlife as it is for ornamental planting. Water regularly during dry spells to keep flowering at its best throughout the season.
Barnsdale tip: Deadhead faded blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering, and lift the tubers after the first frost in colder areas if your soil is heavy or prone to winter wet.

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
