The brownish, fluffy flowers give the effect of smoke rising from the plant, hence its common name of Smoke Bush. However, this compact shrub is grown for its stunning foliage. Producing a very well branched plant, the superb purplish-green summer foliage turn the most fantastic bright red to orange in autumn.
June-August flowering. Best in a sunny position in most garden soils. 3m x 2m (10' x 6').
