Cercidiphyllum japonicum (Katsura Tree) is a tree grown forĀ its foliage, which is pink-purple on emergence and has lovely autumn tints of pale yellow and pinky-red. The falling leaves have a distinct burnt toffee smell. Can be grown as a single stem or multi-stem specimen. The tiny red flowers are inconspicuous.
Spring flowering. Best in a sunny and moisture retentive position in a neutral to acidic soil. Height & spread: 12m x 8m (36' x 24').
