Betonica macrantha (Stachys macrantha) is a clump-forming perennial that brings bold colour and structure to summer borders. In summer, upright stems carry dense spikes of rosy-purple flowers above a mound of textured, mid-green foliage. Loved by bees and other pollinators, it is perfect for wildlife-friendly planting schemes.
This hardy perennial is equally at home in cottage gardens, naturalistic borders or prairie-style planting. Low maintenance and reliable, Betonica macrantha provides long-lasting colour and makes an excellent companion for grasses and other late-summer perennials.
June-September flowering. Grows best in full sun or partial shade in any well-drained soil. Height & spread: 60cm x 30cm (24" x 12").

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
