Universally acclaimed by experts, Aster × frikartii 'Mönch' is widely regarded as one of the finest hardy perennials ever introduced. This spectacular Michaelmas daisy is celebrated for its exceptionally long flowering season, producing an absolute profusion of large, elegant, lavender-blue daisy flowers with warm golden-yellow centres from mid-summer right through to late autumn.
The blooms are held on airy, well-branched stems that form a neat, bushy mound of clean, dark green foliage. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, 'Mönch' is highly praised for its superb mildew resistance and sturdy, self-supporting habit. It is an indispensable addition to sunny borders, cottage gardens, and prairie schemes, where it acts as a premier late-season nectar source for bees and butterflies.

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.

Peat-free plant
This plant has been grown in peat-free compost. The compost we use at Barnsdale Gardens is mainly wood-based, mixed with some coir, with an eight to nine months slow-release fertiliser added. We have been using this compost to pot all the plants we grow for over ten years.
