A spectacular, architectural perennial, Anchusa azurea 'Loddon Royalist' is coveted for its rare and intense colour. From early summer, tall, branching stems rise above coarse, bristly foliage, bearing masses of vivid, gentian-blue flowers. These electric-blue blooms are truly striking and are often cited as the truest blue available in the garden.
An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, this magnificent plant is a magnet for bees and pollinators. It makes a stunning focal point at the back of a sunny border, where its towering spikes provide dramatic vertical interest.
Early summer flowering. Drought tolerant. Best in full sun and well-drained soil. Height & spread: 120cm x 60cm (4' x 2').
