A majestic choice for bringing structural drama and subtle colour to the mid-border, this sophisticated African lily bears unique, cool-toned flower heads.
As mid-summer approaches, the exceptionally sturdy, upright stems rise well above dense clumps of strappy, deep green foliage to reveal large, rounded umbels. The flowers open to a delicate and unusual shade of pale greyish-blue, softly flushed with a hint of lavender that appears to change intensity depending on the shift of daylight.
It's a robust and reliably hardy deciduous plant and its sculptural silhouette remains attractive long after the petals fade. The blossoms provide a valuable late-season nectar source for bees and butterflies.
Barnsdale tip: While many container-grown agapanthus flower best when their roots are constricted, this variety performs exceptionally well planted directly into a rich, well-drained border in full sun. To encourage maximum flower production, top-dress the soil each spring with a generous layer of well-rotted organic matter and a handful of general-purpose fertiliser.
July-September flowering. Drought tolerant. Best in a sunny and well drained position. Height & spread: 85cm x 60cm (34" x 24").

As perishable goods, live plants cannot be returned.
