A classic and award-winning perennial, Salvia x sylvestris 'Mainacht' is celebrated for its intense, early-season colour. Living up to its name (which translates to 'May Night'), it produces dense, upright spikes of deep indigo-violet flowers from late spring through to mid-summer.
These striking blooms rise above a neat, compact mound of aromatic, textured green foliage. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, this hardy Wood Sage is a favourite for sunny borders, gravel gardens, and wildlife schemes, acting as a magnet for bees and butterflies. It often rewards gardeners with a second flush of blooms if cut back after the first flowering.
June-August flowering. Best in a sunny and well-drained position. Height & spread: 90cm x 45cm (36" x 18").
