Stiga HT 100e Cordless hedge trimmer

Stiga HT 100e Kit cordless hedge trimmer

The kit consists of the hedge-trimmer, a battery (Stiga E22 ePower 20V 2Ah) and a charger.

First impressions are very good; a well-designed and strong, yet ergonomic, trimmer which is comfortable to hold.

The rear handle has a soft, rubberised, non-slip grip around the trigger which feels just right and the handle can rotate 180 degrees, which makes for easy cutting at all angles.

Safety-wise it couldn’t be better: either side of the trigger there’s a switch, as well as a front handle switch, which both need to be activated before the trigger will work.

This is a very quiet and lightweight trimmer at only 2.615 kg, with the battery which slots into the handle and there are no cables to get in the way, giving more freedom to the user.

The standard charging time for the battery is seventy minutes, giving roughly forty minutes of cutting time, so ideally having two or three batteries would be best - there’s nothing more annoying than a flat battery mid-trim. The E22 battery fits all Stiga 100 series tools, so another incentive to buy a few more.

The 55cm hardened steel blades are very sharp with 18mm spaced teeth. Although this trimmer is smaller than others it still has plenty of power to trim small to medium thick branches. I found it ideal for smaller jobs where a bigger machine isn’t necessary such as to trim Box hedges, it performed well giving a neat and clean cut.

Conclusion: This is another quality Stiga product which is a joy to use. They’ve thought of everything; the blade tip even has a hole for hanging up the trimmer after use.
