These hedge shears by Bulldog appear and feel well made. They have 9 inch (230mm) wavy blades with a non-stick coating, so that should make for easy cleaning. The straight handle shafts are a lightweight alloy with soft touch rubberised hand grips which makes them comfortable to hold. The total length of the shears is approximately 24/25 inches (62cm), so they’re a reasonable size for tackling large hedges.

The shears performed really well; I used them to trim a Lonicera nitida hedge as well as some Beech. They cut cleanly through the fine growth as well as thicker stems and the handle bumpers worked well to reduce jarring.

A feature I really liked on these shears is the adjustable blade tensioner; this allows for looser or tighter cutting depending on the thickness of material being cut.

Conclusion: A really good tool which is lightweight compared to some others, they’re more than adequate for most hedge trimming needs.
