A rare and stunning new, short variety, with the sculpted, hood-like purple flowers borne on dark, almost black, stems in racemes above the lobed foliage during summer. Roots are poisonous.
May-July flowering. Grows in sun or semi-shade with a moist soil. 50cm-60cm x 40cm (20"-24" x 16").
